We have a qualified and disciplined forensic team with many years of experience of toxicological analysis and expert interpretation. Senior members of the team have provided expert witness testimony in numerous coroners inquests and criminal trials.

Aware of the pressures on the Coronial system and needs of relatives, we provide a high quality, cost-effective and professional service dedicated to HM Coroner. We understand the need for fast turnarounds and cost effective work, whilst maintaining very high standards and the flexibility that varying casework demands.

We pride ourselves on the strength of our working relationships with HM Coroner’s Officers, which facilitates analysis and assists in the interpretation of the casework.

With an ever increasing number of pharmaceuticals being developed and drugs being abused, analysis is a constant challenge to the toxicologist. Utilising the latest analytical techniques, we are able to detect and measure a wide-range of drugs and poisons. Within drugs of abuse we have particular expertise in designer drugs, heroin, morphine and GHB.

As a relatively modern scientific discipline, toxicology is continually changing. Known and new aspects are being studied that have a significant impact on investigations (e.g. new drug types, pharmacodynamics and pharmacogenomics). We are actively involved in such studies and aim to incorporate new advances in enhancing our service.

We have a designated sample reception area and welcome personal submissions.

Cases should be accompanied by a submission form detailing case history and the particular request. Forms are available electronically for easy completion. Advice regarding specimen requirements or other aspects is available upon request.
